About this training
This in-person training is designed for mental health professionals who are newer to working with diverse families and want a clear, practical foundation in how culture shapes a parent's attitude toward play therapy. You'll leave with concrete rapport-building language and a starting framework for selecting culturally-inclusive toys and activities. No prior cultural-competence training assumed. 🎯 Learning Objectives In this workshop, participants will be able to: • Identify how culture can impact a parent's attitude toward play therapy • Identify the challenges mental health professionals encounter when working with parents • Discover culturally-tailored strategies to gain trust and establish connections in play therapy • Explore culturally fitting toys, activities, and games for specific ethnicities to improve therapeutic outcomes and objectives
